Officers of Abia State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have paraded two suspects for their alleged involvement with vandalisation of public properties in Umuahia, the state capital, and environs.
Report collected that names of the suspects are Friday Nwosu, forty two, and Sunday Boniface, 38.
Parading the suspects in Umuahia on Wednesday, the country commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Vincent Ogu stated they had been arrested on February 7 at approximately 10pm inside the Umuokpara area of the city following a tip-off.
According to the Commandant, the NSCDC has intensified efforts in opposition to the hobby of scrab object dealers, insisting that vandals have remained in business due to availability of markets where they could sell their wares, warning people who deal on 2d-hand gadgets to stay faraway from shopping for stolen materials.
“Our target is to cut the deliver chain and, consequently make the commercial enterprise of vandalism of public and private properties, less attractive. Our initial investigations display that a number of the vandalised items loaded inside the truck with registration number UMA 244 YW.
“Inscriptions such as IMP/PPD/150 suggesting that some of the vandalised gadgets may belong to Imo country governments. These objects had been concealed within the truck and protected with scrabs to conquer safety on the street.
“Our intelligence community has been elevated to make sure that other suspects are at huge are apprehended to stand persecution,” he stated.
The commandant also vowed that his command is committed to keying into the vision of the Ag. Commandant General of the NSCDC, Kelechi Madu of zero tolerance to the vandalism of critical national assets.
Mr. Ogu similarly pledged the readiness of his command to make sure that all kinds of lack of confidence within the country including farmers and herders clashes are completely stamped out.
