A landlord, identified simply as Afuye, has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly shooting his tenant, Olaoluwa-Daniel Yaya, over outstanding rent at their place of residence on Mosalisi Street, Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.
Yaya told Newsmen that he pleaded with his landlord to give him more time to make the payment, but after he left for work on Saturday, he received a call from his wife that Afuye and his wife were making trouble with her.
When Yaya returned domestic and went to meet the landlord, he alleged that Afuye abruptly introduced out a gun and shot at him six times, adding that his wife collapsed on the sound of the gunshot.
He said, “I owe my landlord, Mr Afuye, for twelve months and 3 months, and I already appealed to him to present me more time to make the fee. I am the chairman of motorcycle operators in Sango; on Saturday, I changed into at paintings when my wife known as to inform me that my landlord and his wife have been making hassle together with her due to the indebtedness.
“I rushed back home and met different tenants at my condominium and that they explained that they were the ones who prevented the owner and his spouse from beating up my spouse. I went upstairs to meet my landlord and informed him he have to have waited for me earlier than doing anything.
“I later left him, got here downstairs and was approaching the door of my flat whilst my landlord unexpectedly rushed down the steps with a gun and shot at me six instances. It took the grace of God that not one of the bullets hit me, but the wall of the constructing is packed with bullet holes. Angered by the development, Yaya told Newsmen that he recovered a pellet and proceeded to the police station to lodge a grievance towards Afuye.
The Ogun State indigene explained that policemen had been particular to arrest Afuye and recover the gun, including that whilst undertaking a further search on his landlord’s rental, different weapons have been recovered through the police officers.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated, “The guy (Afuye) has been arrested and transferred to the SCIID for proper research. His fingers and ammunition were recovered from him. We are looking into the problem. We will replace you as and when due.”
