The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta, MOSIEND, has warned members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, not to carry out any protest march in Bayelsa State.
The Chairman of MOSIEND in Central Zone, Comrade Taribolou Ogboriyo, gave this warning in a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa on Monday, following reports that IPOB has directed all its members to carry out a nationwide protest today.
Comrade Taribolou stated clearly that Bayelsa State remains the Jerusalem of the Izon nation and has no link or relationship with Biafra; hence, they will not allow anybody or group of persons to carry out their illegal activities in the state.
He maintained that MOSIEND will mobilize all Izon youths in Bayelsa State to stop any of such protests in Izon land; warning that they will never tolerate the wanton destruction of lives and property by any group of persons in Bayelsa State; as was witnessed in other states in the guise of EndSARS protest.
He noted that the Izon nation has its own problems and that, at the appropriate time, MOSIEND and other well-meaning sons and daughters of the Izon nation will address their challenges one by one, without any violent agitation.
Taribolou advised members of the public to inform MOSIEND of the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra – for them to act quickly in order to maintain the peace and stability already in existence in the state.
He called on all non-indigenes residing in Bayelsa State to behave themselves properly and also call their children and wards to order; warning that MOSIEND will deal decisively with anyone caught.
